Le Trou du Diable ‘Saison du Tracteur, 6% ABV, Saison. Shawinigan, Canada – Named for the hard-working, tractor riding men of the land. Filled with notes of citrus, passion fruit, wheat, hops and hints of spice that continues on the palate. Medium bodied and softly carbonated with a refreshing bitterness that provides balance on a long finish.
Haandbrygerriet ‘Odin’s Tipple’, 11% ABV, Dark Norse Ale. Drammen, Norway – Rich roast and chocolate up front that is moderately dry. Moderate astringency throughout the sip that emphasizes the booziness at the end and into the aftertaste. Smooth and strong, spicy, some tart notes in the aftertaste. Very excellent for the fall weather that is slowly approaching.
Hudson Valley ‘Planetary Heart’, 5% ABV, Sour/Wild Ale. Beacon, NY – Newest offerings from HV! A Sour Farmhouse Ale matured in oak with vanilla beans and dry-hopped with Citra and Mosaic powder. Soft citrus and vanilla on the nose, wood and musk. Hints of tropical creamsicle and a bit tangy into the finish. Unbelievable.
Pipeworks ‘Ninja VS Unicorn‘, 8% ABV, Double IPA. Chicago, IL – Ninja vs. Unicorn is a magical and inquistive DIPA that’s terrific with all its glory and a few of its worts (no pun intended). Light honey and caramel sweetness, citrus and tropical fruit flavors, spice, earthy pine, sharp herbal and grassy bitterness that grows into a full-out resiny-dry finish. Super fresh!!
